Often the windiest spot on Georgian Bay
(and even the Great Lakes!)

We need 5-10 knots of wind to learn to windsurf.

We need 10-15 knots to get up on the wingfoil.

And 18+ knots to shortboard windsurf.

Key Harbour is often nice and windy,

Windswept Pines

The prevailing southwest wind is why the trees grow sideways here. The Group of Seven painted their iconic pine trees on the northeast shore of Georgian Bay.

Henvey Wind Farm

The consistent wind in the Key Harbour area is also why the Henvey Inlet First Nation chose right here to build the largest wind farm in Ontario!

Perfect for Windsurfers

Hoyle and Dianne Schweitzer invented and distributed the original Windsurfer brand. Despite living in Maui, they decided on Georgian Bay for their summers. Our logo and love for the sport are inspired by them.
